Our Services
Discipleship (also called Pastoral or Christian) Counseling, provided by a licensed, ordained minister, is the process of “coming alongside” those in need, providing individualized support via the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Christian counselors are not licensed psychotherapists – that is, we don’t diagnose, nor “treat” disorders in the typical, clinical capacity. Rather, faith-based solutions, via the Mighty Counselor’s direction, are sought. Prayer is an integral, vital and ongoing aspect of service provision.

FAQs
Common Questions
What makes Christian counseling different from traditional therapy?
Christian counseling integrates biblical truth with evidence-based therapeutic practices. While traditional therapy focuses primarily on emotional and behavioral well-being, Christian counseling also addresses the spiritual dimension—helping you find healing, wisdom, and direction through God’s Word and guidance. At SCCC, we believe that true transformation happens when faith and psychology work together to bring restoration to the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
Do I need to be a Christian to receive counseling at SCCC?
No. Our doors are open to everyone, regardless of faith background. We respect each person’s beliefs and meet clients where they are. While our counseling is rooted in Christian values and Scripture, sessions are always guided by compassion, confidentiality, and respect. Clients are never pressured to adopt specific beliefs, and we tailor our approach to each individual’s comfort level and goals.
With what types of issues can Christian counseling help?
Christian counseling can help with a wide range of challenges—such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, stress, life transitions, spiritual struggles, and more. It’s also a space for personal growth and discipleship, helping you deepen your relationship with God and align your life with His purpose. Whether you’re navigating pain or pursuing peace, our counselors offer faith-based guidance and practical tools to support your journey toward healing and wholeness.
